Monthly Meeting - Tri-State Presents: On the Susquehanna with Rich Taylor

  • Morris Museum (Bickford Theater) 6 Normandy Heights Road Morristown, NJ, 07960 United States (map)

The New York, Susquehanna & Western Railroad has always been a favorite of local railfans. Before the days of Walter Rich and Delaware Otsego, the Susie-Q was a railroad on the decline and financially embarrassed. The railroad continued to retrench service further eastward as business dried up and storm damaged tracks were too costly to repair. Yet, its nearly all-ALCo roster and unique operations continued to make the Susquehanna an interesting railroad to follow. Prolific railroad photographer, and New Jersey native, Rich Taylor joins Tri-State on May 9th to give us a look at this era. Taylor’s photography covers the 1960s through the eve of Delaware Otsego in 1980. We’re looking forward to this great look at the Susie-Q.

As always, admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
