Monthly Meeting - Tri-State Presents: Boonton's Transportation Heritage

  • Morris Museum (Bickford Theater) 6 Normandy Heights Road Morristown, NJ, 07960 United States (map)

We've all heard about the activity and great plans for the rail history sites in Boonton. At the March 14th meeting we'll hear from one of the prime-movers behind this promising effort. Our own author and historian William J. "Captain Bill" McKelvey shows us the plans and concepts for operating trolleys and displaying rail equipment in today's Grace Lord Park, where the Morris Canal and the old Boonton Iron Works trackage was located during Boonton's industrial heyday. In addition, Bill also recently authored "The Transportation History of Boonton, N.J.," which will be available at the meeting. Those who already have the book are invited to bring it for signatures. Some of the images in the book will be part of the presentation, as well as a few new ones. We're looking forward to an informative and entertaining evening.

As always, admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
